XP Task manager problem

    It used to function OK!
    But now when I press ctr/alt + del The task manager appers briefly
    then disappears again.
    It's probably something trivial but any clues? :)

    Well This has been happening for quite some time now but i've just put up with it!
    However I regularly use ad aware and AVG Antivirus and registry First Aid,
    also Fix-it utilities.
    None of them seem to spot anything amiss!

    Think about it.

    You open task manager.

    Something kills the process after you open it.

    What else besides a malicious app would do that?

    I could name a few that do it.

    Spybot worm, and Klez being the most common.

    I bet it doesn't happen in Safe Mode.

    Narrow it down with msconfig.
