Xp theme prob's again

Hi again.
I thought I was over this little prob... obviously not.
Looking in the registry under :-
[HKEY_USERS] S-1-5-21-............1003 Software/Microsoft/Windows/Themes/
There are two key's.
DefaultVisualStyleOff & DefaultVisualStyleOn.
In the off key under "InstallVisualStyle" the string value is empty.
Logic tells me this makes sence but is it right? :confused
Theme manager tells me Luna dll. is in, ThemeActive is on & WCreatedUser is on.

It feels like I'm running out of idea's but I know that's not the case because this problem HAS been fixed before. rolleyes

Any refresher's, my desktop looks ugly.

 

Hello Halo... (how many time's have you heard/seen that). :-D

I've been all around the houses, getting nowhere.
I did have Tuneup Utils '09 installed but figured that could have been the culprit so I removed it with "REVO"... I swear by it. (It goes further than any standard uninstaller)
I haven't had a chance to try the "uxtheme dll." because I don't know where it goes & I don't want to just "bung" it where I "think" it goes. (no hack's either).

The service speill everyones on about just makes me feel like I'm being taught how to suck egg's. (I've seen it everywhere, I know it's not just me).

I did resolve this theme problem before but can't remember what I did. rolleyes
