xp to oem windows7

    i have windows xp on my machine it came out with vista. but i went to xp for the last couple years now i am going to put windows 7 on it a oem copy just bought it. what would be the best way to do it? should i format c in xp then put on 7 i have 2 gig of memory and it is a 32 bit windows 7 oem.it a amd x 2 chip a 64 bit chip. i read that if it would run vista it would run 7 . be a week before i get disk to put it on . any thought or ideas to help me?

    The cleanest and most error free way to install windows 7 is to do a clean install with format rather than an upgrade.
