This is a strange setup, but I have a tripleboot machine, windows xp home on the first partition, fedora linux on partition 2, and windows xp professional on partition 3. Everything runs great, but I can't get my keyboard to work on both versions of xp without re pairing it everytime I switch os's. I have both XP versions because the kid's and wife's files are all running on Home, and I have all my goodies running on professional. I also have a second drive with common files for both (works out great 'cause if one crashes, I can fix it from the other os :) ) I use a microsoft keyboard elite for bluetooth keyboard, and intellimouse elite for bluetooth mouse. The mouse pairs just fine on both without have to redo it every time. If I pair the keyboard on xp home, it works great for a while. I can restart the com, shut it down, etc. and it always works when it comes back on. If I boot to professional, the keyboard doesnt work and I have to re pair it. Then it works fine in professional, until I boot back into home and, once again, have to re pair it. Is their a way to pair it into both OS's at the same time? Basically, every time I press the button on the keyboard to pair it, it won't work in the other os. Pain in the neck, and any work around would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's not windows. Been there and done that. It's Linux that changes something like USB in the hardware. I don't know what exactly, but I had the same problem until I decided to stick with either OS.

As a test, boot up XP HOME, fix the keyboard driver, shut down, boot up XP PRO. Is it ok?

No. As soon as I boot up the other OS, they keyboard functionality is lost. The mouse works just fine. Whichever OS I set the keyboard up on, works fine through multiple boots and shut downs. It's not untile I pair the keyboard up with the other OS that it's lost. Funny thing is that the keyboard still shows up in bluetooth properties as being connected. Just no actual functionality. I gave up pairing it in Linux a long time ago. It seems to be an active problem in linux with microsofts bluetooth keyboard that it crashes but the mouse works fine. I was hoping maybe someone knows where to view the settings for individual bluetooth devices so that maybe I could input the settings manually without pressing that little button underneath to release the connection.
