XP- unable to download

recently run an anti virus( avast) , may have deleted some win files. cannot download anything oon the laptop, win xp os.. the download dialog box freezes and nothing happens!!1 pls helppp

Have you tried doing a system restore to before you did the avast scan, this should resolve your problem....
