XP updates won't install after repair

I've tried all I know (not much) to install 77 downloaded updates, then I found this site (Thanks Major Geeks :wave ) which led me to http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=817&page=1. Unfortunately I'm not clever enough :confused to manually register the DLL's. Please tell me in simple terms (I'm just an ancient newbie with basic skills) how and where to create the necessary batch file to manually register the DLL's

Hi again mixer, I've had success with making a new disk with RyanVM Pack, repair with that and then going to WU to get what's remaining. Wait for some other responses first, I may have missed something.
