Can anyone verify this? I am currently using the windows firewall from SP2 not knowing it was inferior to the free ZA firewall.

    thx

    Yes.

The WIndows firewall only blocks incoming connections (and possibly running servers on local ports) It doesn't do anything to stop a program accessing the internet and downloading anything it wants.

Go with ZA its a great free firewall. Remember to diable the WIndows Firewall once ZA is installed
