I want to test a couple of old usb wifi adapters in XP but only have an XP VM in a Win 10 host. If I can find the drivers can it be done?

Try it and see, then let us know.

If I plug in an XP wifi adapter it isn't going to install in Win 10, so it cannot then be attached to the VM. Unless someone has ideas for a way around that it's barely worth the effort trying.

Well I was wrong about that. I set the VM's network adapter to NAT and disabled the existing connection. I plugged in a USB adapter I once used in XP and the VM recognised it and found and installed its driver. It could see my router (and a few others) though could not connect because the adapter used WEP security - not good enough for my current router.

But now you know it is possible. Thanks for posting your findings.
