XP will not shut down after AVG install

    I recently upgraded to AVG 8.0 on both of my machines and both are experiencing similar problems. When I give the shutdown command, nothing happens. I have had to force the machines off manually. Nothing has changed on either machine, other than the AVG upgrade. Any help would be appreciated.

    Ya, I'm nixing AVG 8 too from my XP though I haven't experienced your issues yet. Mainly for the 2.5 hour scan everyday on 400GB of stuff on the HD's, Going to Avast also, works like a charm on my Vista install.

    After years and years of AVG, I'm dumping it and moving to Avast also.
