XP: Windows is low on memory msg.

ABOUT MY COMPUTER: Windows XP Professional, 512 MB RAM, 37.2 GB disk space (29.9 GB free). Processor is Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.00GHz; processor speed is 1.95 GHz.

ERROR I RECEIVED: I opened MS Publisher to try to convert my HTML-created Web site to a Publisher page. I right-clicked on a text box, then clicked Change Text|Edit story in Microsoft Word, I got an error message:

"Windows is low on memory. To free up memory, save your work and close other programs; then continue working."

I did so (I left my Norton Anti-Virus on, though). I also rebooted. I still get the same message.

How can I find out whether this is a bug with Publisher or if I really do have some sort of memory problem? (I rarely use Publisher, so I don't really care about being able to create a Web page with it.)

WHAT I'VE DONE SO FAR: I've been unable to use the system tools to figure out how much RAM I'm using. Under Windows Task Manager|Performance, there's a listing for Physical Memory. The total is 523276 K; Available: 232900 (varies), and System Cache is the difference between the two. The total Kernel Memory is about 56,000 K. Under Processes, it doesn't appear that much is going on right now; just Internet Explorer and System Idle Process have numbers under the CPU column.

Yes, I believe I have Office 2002. I turned off script blocking, and it worked. (I'm so happy to know I don't have a RAM problem.) Thank you so much!
