Hello, i am new, so i hope what i say makes sence.
I am trying to duel boot Linux Red Hat 9 and Xp from the GRUB bootloader,
but when i choose Xp, it comes up with a message saying "bootmng.exe not found, press ctrl-alt-del to reboot." thats it.

If it helps i have 2 hard drives, one with 2 NTFS partitions, a FAT32 partition, and a small Linux partition. And the other with just an NTFS partition.

'lo Smash, welcome to Major Geeks.

It would help more if you told us what was on which partition and their order.
Do you have your Windows CD?
I expect you will have to edit the boot.ini file (save a copy first) which is in the root of the windows partition.

Can you see this with your linux?
Otherwise you will have to boot to the windows recovery console to do it.

Ok, i dont have my windows cd, but ill take my friends tomorow and try the repair option.
I cant see anything from my Linux because my windows is installed on an NTFS filesystem.
It was working fine before, it only happened when i was re-partitioning my harddrive last night, i left it overnight to format, and when i woke up, all i saw was "bootmng.exe not found" on a blank screen.
On one physical hard drive i have a main NTFS partition (with windows Xp), and then an 'extended drive' with 3 partitions on it, Ntfs, Fat32 and Linux.

Oh, and isnt bootmng.exe an old worm from '95 days? why would it need to use it to boot windows xp?

Im 15, therefore am not very geeky yet, i do however have a general idea of where im going now.
I will use the windows boot disc to fix my MBR, and system files that may have been lost through my stupidity, clear my ancient linux, install Ubuntu, with a new version of Grub, and have that tripple booting:
    1) Xp on an NTFS partition,
    2) Ubuntu on a Linux partition,
    3) Mac OS10.4 on a FAT32 Partition (dont ask).

    Thanks for your help.
