   New computer, I get to the install XP press enter screen, then the "please wait" screen and nada. Any ideas???

   Is this a new build, that has never had an OS installed on it?
   
   if so I have in the past had similar, a few things to try are, reset the Bios ( take battery out for a few minutes, then replace ) and check to make sure boot virus protection is disabled in the bios if enabled.
