    Hi,

A friend of mine bought a Dell XPS gaming desktop with all the fixin's. Something happened to the board and it was replaced on site by a Dell technician. Now this is where things get fuzzy but either while the tech was there or just afterward, the client complained about loud processor fans. I'm hear to tell you that I have heard vacuum cleaners that make less noise than these fans. Also, they're on some sort of BIOS or software regulator that makes them run very loud and high rpm when you're playing games. I know that you can buy quieter fans, but I don't want to violate the warranty or damage the board and processor by not providing the proper cooling. Dell says this is "normal" but trust me, dude, there's no way that this is "normal". I'm talking LOUD!

    Any suggestions would be helpful

    Thanks,

    Luciano

Only thing I can think is to open the case while the machine is on and stop the fans individually with your finger and see if it's one certain fan. Perhaps a ball bearing in one of the fans is messed up or something.
