Yahoo mail fix?

    Hey y'all.

I've noticed in the past couple months that my yahoo.ca email account has been getting more junk mail with virus-y stuff attached to it.
Also, I notice that every now and then, I get a message from someone or some mail server that I didn't send a message to, asking about a file/message I sent, or notifying me that the server bounced a message back due to baddies inside.
My computer is OK, I think... passes Ad-aware, S&D...
Is there a chance that there's something IN my account/saved messages that's doing this?

If so, how can I find it and stop it?
    Thanks!

    What OS are you running?
Are you fully up to date with Micorsoft Updates? and
Are you running a virus scanner on your PC?

My Yahoo account has been getting those, too. They're the result of Internet worms, AFAIK.

Yeah, I have Norton. Don't do manual scans much.
Windows should be up to date... I have XP Pro, just no SP1 pack on it.

Anything I can do 'bout the worms? Probably not?
And what's AFAIK mean? I'm pretty up on my acronyms, but this one's a new one. :p

AKAIK = As Far As I Know

You should make sure Norton defintions are up to date and run a full scan.
Don't guess if Windows is up to date. Go here and check: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

You should get SP1 installed. Why haven't you? Do you have slow internet access (i.e., dial-up modem)?

    Ah so.
Makes sense... I was sure it involved the F-word somehow.
I know my Norton and Windows are up to date. I guess I should run a full scan anyway... no matter how long it takes... I'm scared to guess how long a Norton scan'll take.
I suppose it's a small sacrifice to know if things're OK or not.
A computer-savvy friend of mine at work found his pc got bogged down after he installed SP1. I'm fine without it so far... I just needed to get XP to get rid of NT 5.0. Tiger Woods 2004 wouldn't run on that OS, so I had to change it, heh heh. Anyway... long story overall.

I guess I'll try the Norton full scan, see if anything comes up... I think my PC's ok, overall. I'm fairly careful.
I'll post anything if I find it.

I'll have to get some wormicide for my Yahoo account. :p

If you don't have SP1 or 1a, Windows is not up to date.

You might try the online scanner at http://housecall.trendmicro.com it's more thorough than Norton.
