Yahoo Messenger Won't Close when computer shuts down

I have googled for this problem and searched MG for it and no answer so thought I would see if anyone else is having or had the same problem.

When I go to shut down or restart the computer Yahoo Messenger 9.0.0.2018 hangs and won't shut down I have to click End Now in order for it to shut down so my computer can shut down or restart.

I get two pop ups the first says " End Program - YahooMessenger" at the top.. then the box says "Ending Program Now please wait" and there is an end now button at the bottom.

Second pop up says "End Program - YahooMessenger" at the top.. then the box says "This program is not responding to return to windows and check status of program click cancel. If you choose to end the program immediately you will loose any unsaved data. To end program now click end now" Then there are two button at the bottom end now & cancel.

This has been going on since the update to the 9.0.0.2018 version. I do not have any spyware or malware and was just wondering if I am alone in this problem or not and what can I do to fix it? It is rather annoying as I can have my Windows Live messenger running when I go to shut down or restart and it ends normally, and my FW and AV ends normally as well. Am running FW - Comodo FW vers. 3.5.55810.432 and my AV is AVG Free 8.0.

Thanks... there is a new version out 9.0.0.2034 I downloaded that and so far problem has gone away.... will keep fingers crossed that it stays away...

Have bookmarked oldapps.com just incase I need it for future.

One thing that I can't stand about the newer versions is the status message line... used to be able to have i think up to five status messages on standby just a couple clicks and you could change your status message now you have to retype a new one in all the time... Used to also show like away from desk, etc... do you know what earlier version had that capability?
