Yahoo PW retrieval

Changed type of service from ISP.
Tech put in temp Pw which I cannot find.
Went to Yahoo site to set up new one.. Entered Yahoo ID (email address), but page keeps reloading.
Is my Yahoo ID not my email address?
I am trying to contact tech, but may be a while getting response. Meanwhile, there is e\mail I need to retrieve to cat on.

I'm no expert on Yahoo Mail (I've had enough of my own quirks with that service that I have been considering changing to something new. But I still use it.)

The ISP tech should only have been passwording your ISP account settings not Yahoo mail. Are you sure he/she was involved with Yahoo?

Have you tried using a different browser to sign into Yahoo? Your username is your email address (old accounts end in @yahoo.com and in the last year they could potentially end in @yahoo.net). Which browser do you use? FF will let you see passwords under the Options>Security>Saved Passwords button.

 

For reasons I don't understand, the system kept reloading the sign in page after I entered the needed information.
I went back for another try, and succeeded in getting signed on. Had to change PW, but that was no big deal.

Glad you got it sorted out.

I've had my own problems with YMail with it not accepting passwords or logins. It is far from perfect software but then again it is free and probably has millions of users using it at the same time so I can cut it some slack. Unfortunately, it refuses to let me into an old account because I didn't use it for a few months. Now that is unforgivable. I know there are alternatives and one of these days I am going to give them a test out. I just have sooo many addresses linked to my main yahoo account I don't want to lose track of them.
