well i was 3000 frames into a fold, and I felt the need to reformat my hd. So I coppied the Folder with the work in it on to my flash drive. But the folder back after reinstalling, and fold@home picked up right where it left off!

That's the way to do it! I'm finally running two folds on my X2 machine. I hope I did it right.

Great move gimpster123, that's using the good old brain pan, and it's good advice for any others that want to save their "Folding" project in similar circumstances. Great job

If you go to this link http://forum.folding-community.org/ you might find some answers or maybe augiedoggie can tell us how he did it

It's easy enough, just install the 5.04 console after the 5.03 GUI and you're good to go. Only thing I didn't understand was the CPU ID designation. I'll post the FAQ when the site is up again.

Sorry I don't fold for you guys but I don't want to lose my 56K points elsewhere but it all ends up in the same place. :)

Thanks augiedoggie here is the article from F&H

For this "Old Fart" could you elaborate on how you created seperate directories for the Dual Proc's.....And just to clarify you installed the GUI Client first which would take the first Proc(by default), then the Console Client and config'd it to take the second Proc....Curious as to why you wouldn't run two Console Clients instead as that might be slightly faster, Right?

Sorry your not Folding for us Geeks, but like you said its all for a good cause, and any help you can give us augiedoggie is truly appreciated

Hmm, from one old fart to another,:p :D I just created a new folder entry in Program Files, called it F@H since I'm not that creative and d/l'd the console in there and then double click on the entry and answer the questions, and as I said I'm not too sure about naming the procs. That's a wait and see type of thing for me. I guess I'll find out when the WU's are finished.

As to why I'm not running two consoles, good question! I'm new to the dual-core scene, what two weeks so far, so I'm inching my way along with this. I also started another fold on my older 1GHz Celly that I just revived which I hope to make a *nix server eventually though it's a long ways from that ATM. I need more data.:) I leave my machines on 24/7 now since the hot weather has passed, so that helps too and what better way to use the wasted cycles than this?

I hope that helps a bit.

I don't know about lucky as I just spent $600 for wood to get through the coldest months. The electrics just don't cut it here. At least I'll still have a foot warmer.:)
