Have any of you ever played the Xbox 360 game Halo 3? I have. In it many try to beat the other side and fail. While trying to rank up over a couple years I saw the same pattern repeat over and over again. Someone with more one vs one skill than everyone else, even the other side blames his team for the loss. But again and again I see where these high skilled people fail, it is called team work. Now there is 2 keys to team work in halo that makes it work, and I have seen this so many teams, where each player while weaker than all others on the opposite side is able to defeat the opposite side with there team. The secret is simple, it's called a shout out. Every time you see a player you call out where he is and what he is doing, you must learn the locations and a short hand for those locations for quick shout outs. Now a good 90% of all players on Halo do not use shout outs, and will not use them when asked to.

I feel like a lot of the problems these days can be summed up with an analogy to Halo 3. No one wants to work together. The answer is just that easy. I could point to a specific example and the first thing that happens is someone will come out saying that I work for the other side and that I am biased, and my reason was part of a half truth, and the analogy might be right, but the example is wrong..................So I leave this thread as is.

Later, thank you for reading my rant, and good luck:cool

I think online is a bad place to consider team work. Everyone is out for their own betterment, and team work tends to be something not practiced except by professionals, not throw together Amateur teams.

Halo is also a bad game to do it with, since it tends to be full of more 'mainstream' players and less hardcore, dedicated gamers.

Triaxx is right, asking for teamwork in Halo is like Oliver asking for "More".
Halo is an arcade shooter through and through, little to no tactics are used or required to play this game. Much like the COD's of late.
I used to play COD4 Team Tactical, 3 vs 3 in tactical matches, most of the time strategies and communication were used to great effect on my team.
Whenever I would get on a team where I was the only one using tactics, we would lose.
But put 3 of us on a team where we are planning tactics and communicating from the onset and we ruled all.

If you want teamwork and tactical play you have to move upto to tactical games.
Rainbow Six vegas used to be a tactical game, Socom was too. Now I think the only real tactical games left are Operation Flashpoint and Arma 2. These games force you to use teamwork.
The other huge difference between the likes of Halo and Arma 2 (can't believe I put those in the same sentence lol) is the fact that Arma 2 has very few players under the age of 18-20, where Halo has a very large percentage of younger teens playing who consider themseleves gaming gods and don't need your help.

Teamwork is a wonderful thing and usually pretty easy to find in the work force, but finding teamwork in Schools is a whole different story, every kid wants the glory so instead of passing the ball to a team mate he will try an run it the length of the field himself because HE wants to score the goal and get the glory.

Ghost Recon was pretty tactically oriented, if you could locate people who knew what they were doing, instead of treating it like Halo.

Arma 2 has a surprisingly large number of vets playing it seems. And I hate that, they're really, really tough to beat.

Your on Majorgeeks! That's like going to an NRA forum saying guns don't effect the crime rate.:-D

I don't understand why anyone would want to play online without using teamwork, may as well play off line and tag bots all night,do people even still play solo deathmatch?

Its hard to better the feeling 'in gaming' of a well oiled team working well together,it's awesome when you end up on a server with the same bunch of people night after night and everyone falls easily into their roles.

After you've experienced it,its hard if not impossible to play online with a load of people you don't know or a bunch of newbs, loads of times in the past if the people I usually play on a team with aren't there I just switch off the PC.
