We installed win 10 on our desktop and now my DD can't play a game she paid for (Minecraft v 1.9) any more. It says we need to update the graphics driver but windows or microsoft won't let us. SOOOOOOOOOOO I really don't see anything so great about win10 ..... I have some questions:
1- how do I completely uninstall win10? Without losing any data on my PC.
2 - I did a search for the file which was referenced in another thread and found 24 items all file names starting with "package_1_for_KB3035583..." or just "package_for_KB3035583..." either ending with .cat or .mum extensions. Should I delete ALL of the 24 items. And can I delete them from the search window or do I need to go into local disk C: > Program Files and find the files there and delete or somewhere else?
3 - OR does anyone have a fix for the graphics driver update error message she receives from Minecraft “Pixel format not accelerated” or “Lack of updated graphics drivers,” which stops her from playing the game?

    1. Settings > Update and security. For the first 30 days after upgrading you can revert to your previous system

    2. Forget about KB3035583 - it is completely irrelevant now you have upgraded

    3. Tell us exactly what computer make and model and someone may be able to help

Actually it is two issues that I have:

    1. I have a lap top running windows 7 and I HAVE NOT upgraded to windows 10 and want to get rid of ALL the win10 pre-install junk from my laptop which is an HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC 64 bit OS. That's why I asked about the KB3035583 files.

    And

    2. We did install windows 10 on our PC desktop (upgraded from 8.1) MORE than 1 month ago. It is a Lenovo 64 bit OS.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    No need to shout.

    1. You can uninstall anything you don't want through Control Panel or could try something like PC Decrapifier

    2. There's no way back to 8.1 I'm afraid. 31 days or thereabouts after your Win 8.1 was upgraded to 10 your licence was converted to a Win 10 licence, so even if you had created an image before upgrading you probably would not have been able to revert.

Sorry, just realised I didn't answer the right question at 1. If you install GWX Control Panel it will remove most, though possibly not every last bit of Win 10 related stuff that has been downloaded.

Thank you so much for the reply. I did install GWX as you recommended in another thread. So I don't need to delete any of the KB3035583 files?

So the only way back is to do a full reinstall of the original windows version?

    1. On the system that you upgraded to Windows 10 more than a full calendar month ago, no you can't go back.

    2. On the laptop running Win 7 that you say you have NOT upgraded, apart from installing on that system GWX Control Panel, you shouldn't need to do anything else to STAY on Windows 7.

On the Windows 10 system you can uninstall anything you don't want including store apps that came with Windows 10.

Seems so, and even that may not activate if my understanding of the Win 10 licensing is correct. Worth a try though but you must not lose your Win 10 too in the process so it's essential to create an image first and store it on a second drive. Ask if you need help. However both Max Turner and I, and of course millions of others are getting on just fine with Win 10, so you need to be sure before you throw it overboard.

Are you saying I can't use the restore/reinstall flash drive I created to reinstall windows to the original windows 8 it came with?

I can't ever go back to the original windows 8 version? What if the system crashes?

Hard to be sure. If this an OEM system that came with 8 or 8.1 pre-installed, and providing you have the means to reinstall via recovery disks or a recovery partition, it's conceivable it may reinstall and reactivate. No guarantees at all though, so as i said, create an image of 10 so that you don't lose it.

Thank you for the advice. I will think about it and if I need help I will ask as you kindly offered above.
