yet another sound prob =( a weird one this is

hi guys
i have no idea whether this problem is a software/hardware issue therefore i'm posting it here.



here goes.


just go my pc set up a few days back, running
MSI P55-CD53 mainboard.
winxp sp3
on board sound card


my audio will suddenly just go off when i am running a game, not any particular game.
have been playin ARMA2 and L4D, and suddenly my audio will just go off.
when i exit to desktop, tried playing soundtracks on windows media player, random files from anywhere online, there's simply no sound.

at this point of time, everything seem to be workin jus fine, no errors on drivers, checked device manager, as simple as it was, there was simply no audio.

and when that happens i'll have to reboot windows and there'll be sound again.

i've been figuring for the past 2 days and i found no answers.

tried reinstalling drivers
tried disabling multiple drivers, disabled legacy audio driver, as i'm using realtek HD audio.

all to no avail.

in distress!! PLEASE HELP!


using the latest (i assume) REALTEK HD AUDIO drivers

RtkHDAud.sys
version 5.10.00005898

was running 5.10.0000.5888 earlier, as my setup disc for the mainboard came with it.

*latest find, this audio loss only happens when i'm gaming online, eg, l4d, arma2.
didnt have this problem during all my offline sessions on fallout 3.

 

am clueless, decided to try this and here's the task manager comparison results.

MSI tech support replied asking me to update my BIOS version,
for the P55-CD53, live update 4 will only find bios version 1.0


they pointed me to 1.34
i flashed it and so far audio works fine. will continue testing.


please pm me if any of you with this problem needs the file.
