Hey guys, I seem to have one of these svchost.exe application errors.
I have searched and found a bunch of solutions(mostly windows update related) for similar problems but they haven't worked for me. I'm on WinXP SP3.
    The standard error is:

The instruction at "0x75606eb5" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.

    I also get 0x7564d383 with 0x00000060

The issues I have include no internet, no sound, no antivirus loading, theme changing, some progs don't run. I ran all the scans and I am clean. I tried to run checkdisk but it didn't seem to work right. I have looked into services and found that when I disable Remote Procedure Call, I can start up without error. Once I stop that service, I get no errors on startup but I still am unable to use my internet and various other functions cease to work. In safe mode, I get no errors and I can see my network connection but internet still does not work.

Any and all help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey, now there is 2 of us WITH THE EXACT SAME PROGRAM PROBLEM. And I mean exact.

My post is in the malware forum, tho.

I'm starting to think it has something to do with that service pack 3 update. From the snooping I've been doing..different sites..a lot of ppl say not to have this SP3 downloaded. But hey...how would I know. We're both waiting on answers. Check out my thread on malware forum.

How do you connect to the internet? What browser do you use?

I use Google Chrome. I have tried IE and Firefox to no avail though.

I will try the "read and run me first" from safe mode as DomLuc recommended.

DomLuc: I can't connect to the internet in any mode right now.
I was going to put updated versions of all the apps from the 'read and run me' on a usb drive or a CD. I have already run ccleaner and superantispyware previously.

plodr: I am connected via a wireless home network, using a D-Link Adapter. Other 3 systems on this network have no issues. Chrome is my default browser but I have IE and Firefox on the system as well.

Connect by cable - sometimes for unknown reasons, a computer loses internet because it doesn't get an IP from the router. Of course try it from safe mode because you seem to have fewer problems with that.

Tried connecting by cable, no luck with internet. It successfully connects to the network but doesn't work at all, same as it did with wireless...

Check your firewall on your computer.

The problem has been fixed. I transferred all the read and run me programs over and ran them. Combofix seemed to do the trick.
I apologize for wasting anyone's time, I should have done this before posting.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

    I have the same issue.
I've run Malwarebytes and found 57 items. Then had to restart in safemood in order for Malwarebytes to remove them. However, the problem is still there.

When I first read this thread it was longer and toward the end, someone said they ran all the read and run me items and that Combofix did the trick. I've been trying to find where he found Combofix and haven't been able to.

I'm curious to give that a try.
