yet another torrent question...

Yesterday I started a torrent download (+/- 700mb) and it started downloading great: over 160k and as high as 225k. It got up to 16% and the speed went right in the toilet. I'm using utorrent (thanx for recommendation Sach2 ) and it works great. But why the drastic drop in d/l speed? Listed under seeds it says 1(3) and varies up to 3(8+)... listed under peers it says 35(4325) at it's lowest point and I've seen it as high as 57(5228)... don't these high peer numbers suggest a faster d/l rate? It's now creeping along at under 1k most the time, and it's usually at 0.1 or 0.2 or 0.3... WAY SLOW! Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. THANX!

I've seen torrent speeds drop off drastically before, but usually the seeds and peers drop off resulting in the slower speeds....
