what kind of blank dvds do u use? i have tried lots of kinds and have always enjoyed ritek (ridata)

i like this one sold by NewEgg.com cuz the top of it really has no label, so my dvd movies i burn dont look "gaudy" and ive never really had any DOAs, however ive started to notice that now, a few years later, some movies are no longer working, i think its due to the discs

everyone is always talking about this brand and i like the way this sounds "silver surface", anyone know does that mean it has a blank silver top?

    anyone use this brand?

I just get what's cheapest unless it's super important stuff. Storage methods are also critical, man i have 50 DVD spindle fulls of stuff that I might not ever need but they're there.:).

I buy Sony and TDK because they are the two brands that I can buy locally and are on the list of preferred brands in my Lite-On burner's manual. Sony have a fairly plain pearl white top and their name across the middle in silver. TDK more a light gray with name in silver. I usually see one or the other of them for half price at RadioShack or Staples about once a month. Still about $12.99 for 50 pack or $22/24.99 for 100.

Never had any problems with either brand. Two times I tried cheaper ones I had problems with a few coasters. Although one $2.00/25pack of a no name discs all burnt fine. rolleyes

Auggie, only one spindle? I go through one a month. Most of which I'll never use or will be so outdated it will be useless. :p

Ya, I have about 15 spindles of stuff, CD's and DVD's together, mostly TV cooking shows. Crap, I still have utilities stuff from MGs from 2K2 on my hard drive! :eek :-D Time for some spring cleaning eh? It's not as if they take up much room, just that I no longer know what they were or did in the first place! rolleyes:)

CD spindles are the pack rat enablers of the digital age.

I use Sony DVD's as well, never had a problem with 'em.
