The title says it all, need some help!
About to start a new week on Clarityn then going to doctors, this is going too far. My eye's are getting puffed up and feel awful, any ideas?
Taking "Cromolux" eye drops that don't seem to help.

What finally ended up working for me, after several different tries (all prescription) is a combination of Zyrtec, Singulair, and Nasacort. The first two I take daily year-round, the last one I take as needed.

Claritin didn't do a thing, nor did Allegra, Clarinex, or most OTC. I did have some luck with Tylenol Allergy Sinus (OTC), but you have to be careful with decongestants if you take them on a regular basis because they will cause your blood pressure to rise.

Mcadam...you're in the UK. Go to Boots and get yourself some Beconase nasal spray. It is awesome!

In 20 years I have never found a remedy that has either been effective, non-drowsy, or I haven;t been intolerant/allergic to. in the end I gave up and sneezed my summers away. Until last year. A friend told me about Beconase. My allergies had been getting worse and worse......sinusitis to the extreme and eyes swelling until I looked like something from another planet! This stuff really works and it is relatively cheap (£6-7 will last you several weeks). You use it morning and night and that's it...no remembering to take it out with you. Takes a few days to kick in, but it is good!

I tried to get it here in the pharmacy. My hubby didn't mention till AFTER we got married that this city is the grass-growing capital of the world! Here you have to get it on prescription. Stuff that. I bought mine over the internet cheap! It came all the way from New Zealand too. Haha. Anyway the beconase is holding up great! Try it :)

Let us know how you get on. HTH

yeah -- I cant do decongestants -- makes me stooopid.

Mcadam I have been on Claritin now for about a year, supplemented with a nose spray called flonase (who the hell thinks of these names?)-- They have been a life saver with no drowsiness.

I always feel great after drinking when my allergies act up.

A hot steamy shower! It washes all the pollen off your body and out your hair and the steam helps unblock the sinuses if you breath through your nose.

Also Sudafed syrup for CHESTY COUGHS is great for sinus blockage for allergies. Don't ask me why...there's just something in it that works a treat! It's non-drowsy too.

Flonase worked well for me also...right up until I discovered that the "possible" side effect of nosebleeds was a "guaranteed" side effect in my case.

Well I'm going to the doctors tomorrow to see what he can prescribe me with, see if it'll actually work.
Thanks, Beconase has been recommended a few times so will give it a try!

OK, well after Day 1, it appears that I'm feeling a fare bit better after the first dosage of Clarityn this morning. My nose isn't quite as bunged up and my eyes are a bit better. I'm going to get an equivalent of Beconase tomorrow, but will get it on prescription :p

I got prescribed neo-clarityn by my doctor, and it really didn't help. Piriton seems to work good though :)

Right back from doctors and got 3 different things!!!
A Clarityn equivalent, a Beconase equivalent called Beclomethasone, and eye drops called Rapitil.
Just taken some of the second two, will see how it goes!!!

Piriton works great! It totally knocks me out so I know nothing about my allergy symptoms.

Not so great for driving around, however.....
