We have a Tascam TM-D4000 console. It is strictly used as a monitor foldback system for the control room. It does have an AES/EBU card, but since this console is over 10 years old, only offers an internal sample rate of either 44.1 or 48k.
What would occur if I connect the A/D converter (Aurora 8) and have material recorded @ 96k? I just assume it wouldn't see it. And I'd have to go back to using the analogue outs as I have over the past 10 years.
I was hoping to instead, use the analogue outs to feed a summing box we just ordered.

You better understanding of what will or will not work, would be helpful.
