Youtube doesn't work

Hi there, I realise that you must get this question asked all the time, but I have tried everything myself and the internet can think of but still no luck.

So please could somebody give me some guidance on how to get Youtube to work on my computer again. All it says is that the flash player is not installed and would I like to get it from Adobe. It also says about Javascript etc and that is all at the correct settings.

Yes I have got Flash Player, I've downloaded a standalone msi for the active x install. I also already have Javascript installed.

I've got both Firefox, up to date, and IE 7. Neither of which Youtube works in.

- Both the boxes said "Installation Complete"

- Told me that the version installed was 9,0,115,0

I've already tried the troubleshooting and got nowhere, any other suggestions?

I also thought I should add that videos hosted by Youtube but embedded on another web page do work, wheras the same video on Youtube's site does not.

Any ideas?
