Youtube Subscribe Tab

    I need some help with understanding something about YouTube?

    When I am Loged Into my YouTube Account and find a Video I Like I click the Subscribe Tab.

    But then a Bell comes up next to it.
    And I click the Bell and it says it will tell me when a new Video is Uploaded.

    Ok so this is what the Bell does so what is the Subscribe Tab for?

    If I just click Subscribe Tab and not the Bell what will happen?
