ZA 6.1.744 availability

Anyone know where I can get a copy of Zone Alarm Firewall (Free) Vers. 6.1.744? I've used ZA for a couple years and had no problems. Decided to update to the latest version (6.5.731 from Maj Geeks). Would never completely load and was using 100% of my CPU, so I couldn't do anything else with the machine. Finally got rid of it (clean uninstall) and went to the Zone Alarm forum where I learned that too many people are having problems with all the 6.5. versions. Current wisdom seems to be that the last trouble-free version was 6.1.744. Can't find it on ZA's site, however, only the Anti-Virus for that version.
(am I making sense?) Thanks for any leads.

Although you may want to 'question' why the latest isn't working, I have no problem with it.

 

Thanks, Matt. I've downloaded that and will give it a try. I know many people have upgraded to the latest version (6.5.731) with no problems but I got the same results from it with all 3 attempts. And, judging from the entries on the ZA forum, I'm in good company.

I have to agree with Matty here; better to find out why the current version is not working on your system.

However; in the meantime there is a webpage which lists the entire ZoneAlarm release history; as well as a few of the "older version" download installation links available here from the ZoneAlarm® Release History section of the website (versions 6.1.744.001 thru 6.5.731.000 are currently available for download)

Thanks Compuable! Someone else had also suggested that page. For some reason, I couldn't find the link to it at Zonelab's website. In any event, the download and install from "oldversion.com" went off without a hitch. From the entries at ZA's forum, a lot of people are having problems with the latest version. Incidentally, oldversion.com has a lot of different software for download. Good to keep in mind.
