    Hi Tony

While I do love the look of Karesansui gardens, the one at home is your traditional UK grass effort, so cannot help you, and it would be daft of me to go looking around the search engines image listing for Karesansui as you would just as easily do that anyway and find the sames ones I would.

Question? are you wanting to create one of your own or have one already?

    Thanks Halo.
No I'm not looking to create one. Our art tutor set us a task to paint (water colours) a secret garden, thought I'd base mine on Kare, sansui.

    Hi Tony

Leaves the search a bit wide looking for a specific one, would you by any chance know what country it was from and if Japan what city? as many as you know will have dry gardens.

Kyoto has many but so does Osaka, Kobe and Fukuyama etc
    http://www.phototravels.net/kyoto/zen-gardens-index.html may give inspiration

What's the attraction of Karesansui over a typical common or garden :))) rockery? :confused
They look like a miniature Stonehenge in a driveway. Don't mean to rock :))) the boat, you know me. ;)

No not rocking the boat at all, just a quick question, have you ever sat in one? if not then do so as I personally found it relaxing dunno why, maybe its the way the rocks are raked around so gives impression of water, which is relaxing.

Okay, okay, I'm winding yous up. I love to sit in a nice garden, whatever style it is. I like gardens, they are relaxing. Will have a look around and see if I can find a karesansui garden. If it's like you say, it sounds like a must.
Photos don't do the gardens much justice if that's how you both perceive them.

Only one I know of in UK is this one http://www.thebonsainursery.com/ visited it many years ago, had to dig out a leaflet from a stack on paperwork to find what the hell it was called, racked my brain for days.

    There maybe others in UK

Was reading the post and did some checking myself .There are some awsome gardens. I'd like to try and make one my self. Just a little one.As I was looking at this http://www.onmarkproductions.com/html/japanese-gardens.shtml#karesansui sight I found this in one of the pics. You may have to blow it up more to actually see the size of the Koe in the water.(I'm a big Koe fan) They talk about when the first ones were done. Some back in 1100
