do you know what kind of h/d you have? if so, you can try your manufacturers software (ie - western digital, maxtor, just check their site). you can try UBCD (link below), basically it creates an .iso file, and you use your software (like nero), to burn it to a disk, then pop in your comp. it has some manufacturers software (ie, maxtor, seagate, etc). i added a dban link for usb/floppy. g/l, sos

or even easier, d/l darik's boot and nuke, it'll create an iso file, and burn it to cd, pop it in, etc.

    Hi TD24,

Zeroing an HD is formatting the hard drive. It essentially means that you are taking all of the bits and bytes on the HD that are there now and erasing them all to 0's (zeros), which means wiping the drive clean.

if you change your boot order in your bios (cd drive 1st), it should boot from the cd. - sos

It didn't boot from my cd and that is the first boot option. is there an exe file that i can use or why won't the iso boot. is the iso the only program i want on the cd or can it be on with the download cd i used to transfer instal from pc to pc.

TD24, try the CD on another computer. If it won't boot on that, then you did not burn the ISO correctly. If it does boot then we have to take a close look at your computer.

i'm not sure if the image has to be on the cd itself. how did you burn the image onto the cd? if you use nero, you want to use "burn image to disc" (screenshot below). yes, there is an exe file (this link was in my 1st post). anyway, g/l - sos
