I have an Iomega zip drive I use all the time. All my disks are working fine but one. I tried to convert the file format on some saved text messages and somehow the entire disk is now saying it is in 'raw' format, previously it was in FAT 32 like all the others. All my equipment is functionling correctly and the other disks also. I have tried a couple programs to restore the disk and they both state 'no disk in drive'. The properties show it full. I hate to mail it in. Some of it I can recreate but I am not sure what is on it and don't want to mail it in if I am not completely sure. I have duplicate backups of almost everything but there is always that doubt I missed something. Anyone know of any good programs I can use myself? The ones I checked had reasonable prices too, sending it could cost way more, I don't expect free but don't want to spend too much to find out I have it all. Thanks in advance.

This has a free trial http://www.jufsoft.com/badcopy/zip_recovery.asp
at least you can see if it finds anything.

You might also launch a linux live CD (Knoppix is pretty good at working with windows files) and see if it can see any of your files.

Thank you poldr. I did try that site, which is very nicely done by the way, but sadly it could not find anything on the disk. The fact they give you a free trial before you have to pay is nice too. Saved me some money. I will look into the other suggestion, though I am not familar with Linux it will be something new to try.

See if you can download trials of Spin Rite, CdRoller or R-Studio Recovery. I'm not sure if spin rite is one word or two. They're supposed to be excellent disk recovery tools though. You might also want to visit the Iomega website and see what they recommend in there FAQ or Knowledge base sections. Its possible that only the header information is lost, and thats why it can't see the rest of the disk. Iomega would be the best place to start to find a program that can rebuild the header of a zip disk.
