Zone Alarm 5 beta

Zone Labs, maker of the excellent Zone Alarm Firewall have released one last public beta before they release Zone Alarm 5. With version 5, the company will be releasing a second product similar to Norton's

The new features include
AlertAdvisor - Provides automatic Program policy configurations/recommendations

Antivirus - Provides traditional signature based and new heuristic scanning capabilities (includes e-mail scanning)

IM Security - Plugs into different instant message clients to filter incoming messages, scripts and files

Web Filtering - Blocks offending web content and provides you with 34 pre-set categories

Alert Viewer - New Alert viewer functionality organizes log details by feature category

New features in Zone Alarm include :

Antivirus Monitoring - Provides monitoring of Antivirus Engine and .dat files (only for Norton, McAfee, Trend and CA products)

and lets hope it doesnt have the bugs that Sillymantec's been having with there stuff of late

 

Hi Halo
I am currently beta testing this version. It works well but then i have always got on well with zone. The latest release has a virus checker but you must remember to uninstall what you have and that can in some cases be tricky for some members. But there is nothing that this forum couldn't deal with. I find this version that i am using reliable and have no problems with it at all. So go ahead Halo and enjoy it

 

Im guessing thats a website that not only copies our news, but also took screenshots I took from my machine as their own. When I called them on it, I was ip banned from ther website. Like that worked
