Zone Alarm Free

I downloaded zone alarm free if I read that my route firewall does not work as a software firewall. So I downloaded Zone Alarm Free but now my computers can't share files and the printer any more. What do I need to do to set back up my network?

Open Zone Alarm > Firewall > Zones.
Add your network to the trusted zone.
You should be back to normal after this change on each machine.
Bad out.

 

went there but did know how to find my other computers IP address to set that up

 

Hey Seether21,
You can look on your router to see the clients list,
with all the IP addresses on your network.
Put all the IP addresses in the trusted zone in the
Zone Alarm firewall.
Use the add button on the page you went to, you
can add a range of addresses or single ones.
If the Zone Alarm firewalls are stopping your network,
disable them and get it all working like it was, so you
can get the IP clients from the router.

how would I axcess my router?

 

You router's control panel in your web browser.
Did you not set up your network? router?

 

don't think I did. I just ran that network setup wizard then right clicked my documents and went to properties then went to sharing and clicked share this folder on the network then clicked allow network to change my files. After that I right clicked my network place and clicked search for computers.... then searched and dragged the document files for both computers and sharedoc for both and put them in my network place.

 

Saw from your other thread, you have a D-Link.
If you have left all settings at default, go to your browser, type in address bar - 192.168.0.1 (This accesses the router utility.)
Default Username - admin
Default password - (leave empty)

(These settings are from two models - WBR-1310 and WBR-2310)

 

ok wow I axcessed my route how would I go about setting it up? Do I just click run wizard?

 

Now I keep losing my internet connect have not messed with the route yet. Not sure if it is the route or the firewall

 

OK Seether21,

For now just do an ipconfig /all in a command prompt window and get the
IP address of each PC on your network. In each firewall add the other PC's
IP addresses to the trusted zone.
See if your sharing and all works like it did before?

Just do one thing at a time, ie get things working like before with the firewalls,
worry about the router later.

 

I am not haveing problems withthe inter any more but my dell is having trould with internet explorer. It was reasonly hit with 2 virus and has been acting fun for a few days now.

 

can I just click wireless network conncection status and going to support to find my computers IP that is conncected wireless and on my other one going to local area connection status and going to support?

 

If you have the PC's set up as DHCP clients, the area you refer to may be blank.
