    Hi

What Windows version are you using? are you using a router which has a firewall built in (NAT/SPI)?

Online Armour Free is ok or PCtools Firewall Plus (not supported much now but still good)

Used Comodo for several years. Then tried to install it on a new computer with Windows 7 64bit. No go. Spent hours on the Comodo forum and trying many things. Gave up and switch to Online Armor. No problems.

I'm running Comodo on my 64 bit Win7 system. However, make sure you get Comodo's 64 bit version (the version I'm using is a beta, but it works fine... I've had no issues with it). Don't run the 32 bit version on a 64 bit system... you'll have problems.

I've been using Comodo Internet Security (Firewall and Antivirus in one) free edition for years without an issue. However, I disable the Sandbox feature, because it's a fairly new feature of Comodo and I personally don't like how it works.

I used the 64bt version so something else is going on and based on the Comodo forum the problem is fairly common.

    Hi

Comodo is fine, not a bad firewall at all, just grab the appropriate version for your system be it 32bit or 64bit and make sure your previous firewall is fully uninstalled, even run CCleaner and its cleaner and registry cleaner to make sure all components are gone, or at least as many as possible.

What make and model router? only asking as I dont run a software firewall these days, rely on the routers incoming firewall and Windows inbuilt firewall in Windows 7, as its now easier to create rules for outbound applications, only thing it lacks over a 3rd party firewall is the alert to all new applications wanting outbound access.

My ZoneAlarm recently threw up a big scary-looking ad as I booted my PC, warning me of a dangerous virus (it made sure to name it), and telling me very firmly that the only way I could be sure to be protected was to purchase the ZA Antivirus.

I'm now removing ZA's firewall on general principle, and looking for a replacement. Since it's an XP computer the Windows firewall is not an option, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. Keep the feedback coming! :)

As I understand, win7 has a pretty good built-in firewall so you might not need a 3rd party one.
All routers have a hardware firewall. DSL modems have a firewall; cable modems generally do not.
You should access your router, and at the very minimum change the default username and password.
