Zone Alarm

Hi I downloaded Zone Alarm firewall based on advice from the malware removal forum and lately its been coming up with a box asking me if I want to update to version 7. Everytime I click accept or ok on this box it goes away but nothing happens then the next time I boot up this box comes up again and I cannot close it without clicking ok. is there a problem with Zonealarm or should I try a fresh install?

I had a similar problem with Avast anti virus. Every time I would boot the machine it would update itself to the newer version. That got to be rather irritating, and time consuming. I did an uninstall and reinstall using the original license key. That seems to have worked. I am using Comodo (found it on this site) for a free firewall on the same machine, have been very happy with it. I won't, and never have used Zone Alarm. I have, but won't use Norton again. Just personal preference.

 

running any popup blockers? or hit deny when it was asking to get out on the net once? Shutdown ZA & hit Ok to update then.

 

Thanks guys I did a full reinstall and it seems to have fixed the issue.

Un-install , ccleaner, and re-install fixes probably 80% of problems. Bazza
