Someone answering a question about Mcafee said that ZoneAlarm is almost impossible to remove. Is this true? I don't want to try it cause I am still happy with this firewall. Any ZoneAlarm experiences?

I've personally found it ok to un-install, but you have to stop its processes before you do, however many have had issues with un-installing ZA.

What firewall you have at present?

    You could always try

all free, not used any of them as I'm happy with Zone Alarm Free for now, but others may have soem feedback on the above 4 :)

The latest version of ZA is quite buggy (at least the Pro version). It completely destroyed my internet connection and interfered with my anti-virus. So i uninstalled it. This went without any problems at all. I reinstalled a previous version (6.1.744.001), and now my system runs smooth again. Maybe i was lucky :)

I am using the free zonealarm firewall, just worried that if i do want to remove i will have a hard time. I am so paranoid because of horrible experiences trying to remove norton (had to buy a new computer) and mcafee (had to reinstall the hard drive).

I'm running the most current version and always have and have NEVER had any issues with it whatsoever, I have run it next to AVG and Avast and never once had a problem with any of them. I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, upgraded and downgraded all without any problems.

I am running the latest version also, and along with AVG, spywareblaster, spybot search and destroy, adaware se, a-squared, and windows defender. They are all running fine so far. I just reinstalled the operating system after the mess trying to uninstall mcafee.

Why are you running a-squared AND AVG ?

Running 2 anti virus programs at the same time can cause massive problems and conflicts.

In the interests of a stable system you should remove one of them now.

your supposed to run a-squared with a antivirus it compliments a antivirus it doesn't replace it or conflict with it.

and I have never had any problem uninstalling zone alarm pro or free.

    Doesn't A-Squared have an on-access scanner ?

Matt ......... A2 Anti Malware Personal ( Full version ) does but if its the A-Squared Free version which alot use then no its on access only.

Version 2 of A-Squared Free is now nice, been using for some years no issues with any other product.

My fault, I thought it had an on access scanner, if it doens't then it will run next to anything fine, if you use the full version then there may be an issue.

    I stand corrected.

I use the full version and there is no conflict with my antivirus.

it's designed to be ran that way.
