ZoneAlarm Programs

Hello All,

I'm trying to load ZoneAlarm onto my computer. (Windows Vista Home Premium)

When I'm in the Downloads section of Major Geeks at Zonealarm, it says "Please wait while ZoneAlarm Free Downloading is in progress."

After a couple of minutes another window opens, "Server is not responding. Do you want to cancel downloading?"

I've tried a number of times with no success. I've had no problems downloading other programs on MajorGeeks such as AVG, CCleaner, etc.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Try downloading it directly from their site.. here: http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/catalog/products/sku_list_za.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=US&lang=en (when you click "Download Now" you'll be taken to another page where they'll try to get you to download the full version trial; look on the right side for the 'Basic PC Protection' version which is free).

I'd like to comment on this one...

You're mostly right, dlb and would be completely if it weren't for the fact that either ZoneAlarm has mucked up their page recently or have started using a trick.

You say that clicking on the right hand side will get you the free version (and my memory says that any clickable area on the right side used to take you to the free version) but now there are clickable areas in the right hand area that take you to a form for a free trial version of their Internet Security Suite. Those clickable areas are just blank bits of page but because they're in the same area as the free firewall information, I'm sure some people will think the links lead to the free firewall and will get the wrong thing. I don't know if it's a glitch in ZoneAlarm's page or a deliberate trick to try and get more people trying the Security Suite.

So to anyone reading this and trying to download Zone Alarm Firewall Free, make sure you click on the ZoneAlarm Firewall button (see the first picture attached) and you should immediately get a download box for zaSetup_en.exe showing up (second picture). If you don't, go back and try again.
