Zoo Tycoon 2-Ultimate Collection

So I just bought the Zoo Tycoon 2-Ultimate ollection. I wen't through the installation process and everything was fine. Then when I tried to play the game I clicked on the shortcut, the menu popped up and I pressed play. And then I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and the game never stared. So i tried starting it again and it came up with an error code saying it was already running, even though it wasn't. Then I went to the zoo tycoon website to download a patch they had but it said my game was even installed! I unistalled it and re-installed it and nothing is working. Why won't it run? Should I send it back?

 

You could try this assuming you are running Vista or Win7.
If doesn't work or you are not running either of those, please post system specs including Operating System.

First thing to try would be to Run in compatibility and Admin mode.

To do this "Right Click" the shortcut
Click "Properties"
Click "Compatibility" tab
Check box "Run this prog in compatibility mode for:"
I would start with XP SP3 and if that doesn't work then SP2.
Also check the box at the bottom to "Run Prog as Administrator"

It's the easiest fix and often works.

 

What specs does the game say it needs to run or that its compatible with?
