    Hi,
this is a new thread is created at the request of the helpers on this site and is a sequel to this thread:
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=288580

After going through Read & Run me first, I'm at stage 6 of that which takes me through to http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=139681 where I've completed step 3.

I can still see Internet Helper Anti-phishing in the Uninstall or change a program dialogue box. I noticed this while going through the final steps; I'd upped UAC to the second level from the top, but hadn't got to deleting restore points. The final steps were taking a long time as I was being interrupted by people a lot.

I didn't continue with the final steps.

Since last time, I also uninstalled McAfee, and moved to Windows Defender and windows firewall, so was surprised to see a Secure Search IE Add-on in the Search Providers section which I don't remember seeing before, especially as it has a McAfee icon!

    Logs attached.

    Thanks for helping,
    p45cal.

This is ust a left over from an incomplete uninstall. Also it is not malware. It is from Panda Security. The below registry patch should remove it.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

Yes you had it all along. It is part of McAfee.

Yes, I got a 'successful' message.

I've disable McAfee's Secure Search, but I'd really like to lose it all together - best way?

    Thanks,
    p45cal

Do any actual malware problems remain? What we do not want to get into here is fixing NON malware related items here in the malware forum. That's why the software forum exists. Thanks for your understanding. :)

Fingers crossed, no. However, neither I (this isn't my machine) nor anyone else (the owner's away on hols) have used it in earnest since.

Chaslang didn't find any malware so let's just say no. ;)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
