Something is causing my HD to run for long periods and I am not sure what it is. I have tried to use task manager but I am not sure what to look for. Also I use process explorer as well. Are there any other programs out there that can help me figure out what is going on?

Have you installed any software that would be download a database? Think Windows Defender does this...and a few others. Is your pc acting up, anything else going on that is different, other problems such as pop-ups or re-directs? See this link, post by Halo - might help narrow it down. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=100370

I had file indexing turned on. As this post suggested I turned it off. Hopefully that will stop the annoying tendency of it to keep running all the time. I will let you know in a few days if that helps. Thanks:major

Just a little update that seems to have done the trick.
