pls help newb pls

    hey am new here.

    Chebonaparte.

    i have some major high level cpu problems.

    am sure some real nerd will love figuring out this mess! :D

    i guarantee a challenge.

    ok i have a Acer Laptop run on vista. yes i know vista sux :D

    i know bare-bones basics about cpus but more than most laymen.

    anytime i had problem i would restore or f4 f8 even acer's f12 .

    i can open regeidt myself and msconfig and restart reboot menus and command prompt although i cant get any few commands to work.

    how can i explain the problem in a nutshell? ...

    well

    i believe i have a trojan /virus.

    but it appears to me to have hijacked my OS operating system completely.

    by that i mean when i check Vistas system properties etc instead of the old usual fat32 file system the menus look weird foreign and new and alot options and forms i never saw before and i looked at all my vistas menus many times beforehand.

    it appears to my understanding that instead of vista the os is on some kind of NT or NTFS now.

    basically i had :-

    -a freeze lockup

    -windows shutdown randomly

    - it keeps shutting down laptop even in every safemode randomly erratically and inconsistently

    -its not wires or plugs or internet ive checked several times.

    -its not overheating bcos i left it off cold and it still shuts down randomly

    - it somehow deleted all my restore points (which is the 2nd most major problem)

    - windows update wont work i get code error :-

    "some updates were not installed
    error
    code
    : 80072EFE"

    - when avg did a partail scan it found a "dropper.Trojan generic 3" which i deleted and uninstalled which was a game hex editor

    occasionally when i could use a safe mode, even without it shutting down n stopped me fixing progress i made my own fresh restore point but upon random shutdown it deleted all restore points once again.

    so this tedious loop has been occurring.

    shuitdowns before i have time to fix or repair or fully evaluate .

    ive had windows in safemode , safemode with networking , safemode with command prompt, safemode wit domain controller, normal windows,

    but for 2 days now safemode worked, now even safemodes just keeps shutting down too and bringing me to the f8 screen after microsoft loading screen.

    occasionally i see a blue screen with writing but it flashed in under half second. too fast to read.

    its very slow to reboot too.

    my major problem is it even when it decides to work properly windows it consistantly randomly shuts down.

    all my restore points are gone, save this one it made itself by auto when vista update loaded a new install.

    again as with vista lot nothing is reliable or consistant.

    also i notice before hand my broadband keeps saying i am local instead of internet even thought internet works fine.

    this trojan /virus even turned off and blocked my firewalls and defenders and thwarts any scanners and such.

    anyone who thinks these symptoms sound familiar or can help in any way at all please help.

    ive enclosed a hijackthis log and a pic of error

    i think after this i will buy a mac!

    and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.


    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:


    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this aother user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:

    Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.
