Hi.. here I am again. The last time I posted a thread you have helped me so much so I do wish you can again today. I have series of problems actually. I think one may have caused the other but I am not entirely sure.

So first, when I open my laptop this pop-up appears:

QPservice.exe - Entry point not found.
The procedure PowerreadACValue could not be located in the dynamic link library Powerprof.dll

So I searched the internet for solutions and I've done all of the suggested solutions that is easy enough for me (updating my software and drivers, unstalling and re-installing the program HP DVD play). Then they suggested that it might be a virus so I scanned my laptop twice using Avira but it did not pick up anything. Another solution suggested that it might be a malware. That's when I decided to download malware bytes and scanned it. Then there it was over 50 infected areas in my computer by trojans etc. I asked someone if I could delete them all at ones but he told me that it may affect my laptop if I do... I not sure what to do now... and I'm not sure what to delete.. I will attach here the mbam-log from the scan. I hope you can help me with this one again.

    I use a Compaq Presario CQ61-313US Notebook. Windows 7 home premium 64-bit.

Thank you so much if you can help me!!

Yes you need to have MBAM fix those items it is finding.

Then you need to follow through with the rest of the malware removal procedures:

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Pleases follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • **** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

    • After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!
    Helpful Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
    3. If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.
    4. To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:
Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.

I have completed the read and run me first procedure... I have run all the needed scans, except for the combifix and rootrepeal, which you said not to run in a 64-bit computer.
I think everything went well since the pop-up warning is not showing any longer but I've still attached here the logs just in case.. I've un-installed my antivirus for a while and will wait if you can still see any problems. thank you very much for the time you've given me.. :):)

Open up the Malware Bytes program, locate the update tab, let it update itself > re-scan > fix anything it may find and attach the log for me to see.

    Same for SUPERantispyware.

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

(If you have followed final steps already then please do this instead:)

Download Trend Micro HijackThis 2.04 Final > install it and run it. Do a system scan and fix the following lines if present:

NOTE: HJT may popup an error about the AppInit_DLLs line. Ignore it and click OK to continue.

    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    Download and run OTM.

Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    • Right-click OTM.exe And select " Run as administrator " to run it.
    • Paste the following code under the [IMG] area. Do not include the word Code.
    Code:
    :files
    C:\ProgramData\api-ms-win-core-localization-l1-1-032.dll

    :Commands
    [emptytemp]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large [IMG] button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it into notepad, save it as something appropriate and attach it into your next reply.

NOTE: If you are unable to copy/paste from this window (as will be the case if the machine was rebooted), open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.

Please go to virustotal and upload the following files for analysis, and let me know the results.

Now run CCleaner. Not the registry section, just the cleaner itself.

Download and run MGTools again if you do not still have it on your system (as I believe you followed final steps already)

Don't forget the other logs that I requested. Plus the results from VirusTotal.

Please refrain from renaming logs. They are automatically named and we know what they are.

What problems remain? Those logs look good. :)

But you told me to "save it as something appropriate and attach it into your next reply.".. I'm sorry, I misunderstood. These things are not very familiar to me. I just do the best as I understand them. Anyway, I don't have any problem any longer. I'm very glad that you said it's clean. I just want to make sure that I did not do anything to damage my notebook more. Thank you very much for the help. Now that you've said that, can I now remove these ff. softwares? :

    MGtools
    Malwarebytes
    SuperAntiSpyware
    OTM
    Defogger
    Hijackthis

and how do I remove them safely? And do I need to do the last steps again??
Again thank you very much for these assistance!! Your site rocks!! :)

Kestrel13! Super Malware Fighter - Major Dilemma Staff Member

No, I'm sorry! I did indeed. *slaps head*

    Good!
    You're very welcome. :)
Following final steps will cover that, but I would leave MBAM and SAS installed! I have them too.

To re-enable your Emulation drivers, double click DeFogger to run the tool.

    • The application window will appear
    • Click the Re-enable button to re-enable your CD Emulation drivers
    • Click Yes to continue
    • A 'Finished!' message will appear
    • Click OK
    • DeFogger will now ask to reboot the machine - click OK
IMPORTANT! If you receive an error message while running DeFogger, please post the log defogger_enable which will appear on your desktop.

Your Emulation drivers are now re-enabled.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
