I want you to run TDSSKiller so refer to the below for how to do so.

    TDSSkiller - How to run

C:\WINDOWS\wt <--- Tell me exactly, or show me with a screengrab what is inside of this directory.

    Java(TM) 6 Update 21 <--- uninstall outdated java.

Reboot your machine and install the most current and up to date version of Java available here at the below link:

    Java Runtime 6

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

Couldn't run the Java update as it was too confusing in the link you sent me. Heres the mglogs.zip you requested after running the tdskiller deal. Thanks. Oh ya, don't know how to do a 'screengrab' but here's the folders inside of the windows\wt: updater, wtgutils, wtupdates, and WDInUsePlugin.dll.

Do not know what you found so confusing regarding updating Java. Look under download locations > then choose "Download at Majorgeeks"

So describe to me how things are running now please. :)

    Java(TM) 6 Update 21 <--- uninstall outdated java.

Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box. Ensure you scroll down to select ALL the lines:
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    File::
    C:\Documents and Settings\Chris Ellsworth\Local Settings\temp\0.39051079874360517.exe
    C:\windows\Ilevowubucudirot.bin
    C:\windows\Lbahexuyodegexin.dat
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\17620772
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\~17620772
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\~17620772r
    C:\Documents and Settings\Chris Ellsworth\2gweorjqjutp92vjy9gake
    Folder::
    C:\Documents and Settings\Chris Ellsworth\Local Settings\Application Data\{3CD8B846-E406-4678-A3C2-D26029E0849C}

    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

If after running Combofix you discover none of your programs will open up, and you recieve the following error: "Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion". Then the answer is to REBOOT the machine, and all will be corrected.

Reboot your machine and install the most current and up to date version of Java available here at the below link:

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now!

Things seem to be running ok. Although it took several minutes to download the java update which was very odd. After it installed(it said it was installed successfully) an error box popped up that said: Installer : Wrapper.CreateFile failed with error 5: Access is denied. I attached the requested logs. Thanks.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

So i started an mbam scan while reading your last thread and it found 2 yuckies which i had quarantined and deleted(log attached). Should i finish with the instructions from your last thread? Also, my son has been using a 1GB flash drive for some school work in the past month or so. I was just wondering, is it possible that a virus or malware could attach itself to the drive or files saved on the drive?

Yes you can still follow my final steps.

    Regarding the flashdrive:

    http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/downloads/usbvaccine/

    and...

For the external Hard Drive and a USB stick.

Insert your flash drive before we begin. Hold down the Shift key when inserting the flash drive until Windows detects it to bypass the autorun feature. This will keep the autorun.inf from executing automatically.

Please have all your removable storage devices ready for disinfection.

Download Flash Disinfector by sUBs and save it to your desktop.

    • Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it.
    • Your desktop and icons may disappear. This is normal.
    • It will do a cleanup of removable storage devices, and write a protected Autorun.inf file to help prevent re-infection.
    • Follow any prompts that may appear.
    • The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone. Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well.
    • Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
    • There will be no GUI interface or log file produced.
    • Reboot your computer when done.

Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran it. Don't delete this folder. It will help protect your drives from future infection.

Hey thanks for all your help. Wanted to let you know that the panda vaccinator link you sent me was some kind of trick. I clicked the download button and it just wanted my personal info to sign me up for a newsletter. It won't let me download the software; everytime i click the download button it just takes me to sign up for the newsletter. Even after i click the link in the email i got from them to confirm, there still is no prompt to download the software. Thought that was kind of fishy. Anyways, thanks again.

Scratch the info about the panda from my last reply; i finally got another email with the download prompt. Thanks again!

    Re: ugly malware/panda security

When i try to do a scan my antivira keeps blocking it. Not sure what to do. I get error message: Vaccination was not possible. Error backing up the original file AUTORUN.INF.

Either disable avira properly before attempting to run or simply use flash disinfector instead...you might find you have to disable avira anyway though.

Please navigate to the system tray on the bottom right hand corner and look for an open white umbrella on red background
    • right click it-> untick the option AntiVir Guard enable.
    • You should now see a closed, white umbrella on a red background
