Disclaimer: As far as I can tell, I'm not attempting to do anything illegal here. What happened was that my friend got an iPhone4 and I have inherited his 3G. He was on a Rogers plan with it, and I am using Telus. I can't use the phone unless I unlock it so that it can be used with a different provider (I'm not looking to jailbreak it, unless this has to be done in order to use the phone with Telus.)

So yeah. Unfortunately, he updated it to 4.0.1 before handing it over. So what I'm asking here is - what can I do? As far as I know, no one can unlock with 4.0.1 yet, right? I tried to revert it back to 3.1.3 but it went into recovery mode. I've googled it and people have a ton of suggestions but no one is actually saying that any of it has worked. Has anyone done this successfully?
