I have a VERY funny story about me and my ex in a department store at the perfume counter around Christmas-time! Errr... but yeah. Having a man around, especially if you are in a public place and cannot just dip into another room, is a good idea. Before it hits the other people you look at the man and make your best "I can't believe you're doing this in public- Eeewwww" face.

The secret is, you don't really say that you smell anything. You secretly gather the help of the other women in the room by catching their eyes and turning your nose up, or flaring your nostrils. When THEY finally smell it they won't think YOU dealt it so you're home-free. Now, I have only done this once, so it's not like I go around "dirty bombing" or anything! LOLOL!

Wow, I just checked in on Adryn's rant thread, lot of heavy duty responses that I would love to read but I am too tired tonight. Probably won't hang out long, I just need to unwind a wee bit and have a cuppa.

 

Yeah, I've been posting my little "rant" as well. Before yesterday, I hadn't had a good 'ol rant for ages. Must the season for it again.

Yeah, I poked my head into Adryn's thread and opened mouth/inserted foot. I do that sometimes... I'm getting a bit sleepy but can hang for a few more minutes. So did you have fun?

 

The Talibong had a very busy day and I believe they began celebrating early. I wasn't here till about 11:30 this morning and the board was already humming. There may be some headaches in the morning....

Hmm I've been practising lately how to hold my tongue and let things go. (With family I mean). Never wanted to be "snippish". I think way to hard and have had some super hard times but I really enjoy conversation, both deep and ridiculous. I love most people (except stupid ones, they must be pitied), courtesy goes a long way and I like the fact that the way we act will cause us to be remembered. How we act is up to us. I love to hear "your children are awesome, so polite/helpful/whatever." Who wants to be remembered as the person who was so rude/mean/uncaring? I tease a lot here, I love the sense of humour on the board and I don't mind being teased either. I like that we can be taken seriosly too and that we can ask for advice and help. Oh man the dog is having serious trouble with something in his ear, I had better go... may be back, if not , night all and I'll see you tomorrow.

 

No pie tonight. I was out having a smoke watching the cops drive around looking for hooligans with fireworks

 

Are you leaving?? If so, I'll try to sign on tomorrow. It might be a busy day though. I hope the dog is ok.

One thing to remember: I don't ever want to be seen as rude either. What I post just comes into my mind and I post it. I never mean for anything to be taken too seriously unless I post in technical help or if it has something to do with life/death/sickness.... I would rather be teased because with those who tease me, I know where I stand. (You do a very good job at teasing people and making them feel "at ease," Kiwi.)

Yeah, I would certainly rather laugh at life than cry over it. Been down that other road too often, ya know. Hence I've developed a rather black sense of humour.

Politeness and courtesy cost nothing, even if the party(ies) doesn't particularly deserve it at times. Life’s too short to be holding grudges, I.M.H.O.

 

LOL! Oh, I wish I could have taped what was going on here! Fireworks are legal, so no police. It looked like a Civil War enactment or something! Roman candles, bottle rocket fights, it was fun!

 

Actually, it takes much more energy to hold a grudge or hate someone or be angry than it does to let it go. And... the only person you are hurting when you hold a grudge is yourself. (Or so I've heard.)

Yeah, when we lived inside the city limits it was like that too. This is the first 4th I've spent in suburbia and it reminded me of my childhood!

Grudges are the stupidest waste of time. If it is that big of a deal, you should just kill the person and poof, no more grudge and then you can get on with your life.

Other pet peeve, people who continually bring up the past... "Well, we were supposed to go to the movies on May 4th, 1966 and you didn't show up, how do I know that won't happen again <blech>.

Get over it and move on. I have enough trouble remembering good stuff that happens, I have no room in my head for old stupid crap.

Heh!, heh! I would 'prolly be dead many times over by that definition. Not that I can honestly remember purposely doing anything harmful to anyone. Like does tend to promote like, that's why I don't drink from the Devil's cup of negativity, although sometimes a (-)ve situation, or set of circumstances will, of its very nature be rathe (-)ve, if you know what I mean.

Likewise the (+)ve side of the human Psyche tends to self-promote itself. It just makes (not so) common sense to be a blessing to self and, more importantly, i.m.o, to others, rather than a curse.

It’s coming up to 4:30p.m. here - maybe I'd better get to the stores before they shut (5:00p.pm.)

Well, I finally got into the web site, am printing a credit report, and everyone left. Was I gone that long?

My ex left $4000 on my credit report that I have to pay, as long as we're speaking of grudges, but I guess I'm getting off easily considering some of the stories I've heard elsewhere.

Oh well, I have no business being up so late anyways. I hope everyone is sleeping soundly.
