Cd-rom Mayhem!!!!!

You will not believe me, but I just had a cd EXPLODE!! in my cd-rom.
I've recently been suffering from an intermittent glitch, where my cd-rom starts running at its highest speed and stays there. It won't stop and won't eject. It can only be stopped by rebooting. Well this last time I was trying to install some files from my win98 install disk, and before I could reboot BANG!!!I rebooted and tried to eject the drive, but it was stuck so I shut down and took it out. When I opened it the disk fell out in about a GAZILLION pieces.

Luckily I have another win98 disk, but I won't ever be able to install it again. I don't have the key for this one. I'm glad I have a drive coming in a day or two, because when this one blew it knocked the wires to the tray motor off and I'm not to good at soldering circuit board contacts.

I've seen some wierd things, but an exploding disk in a cd-rom is about the wierdest I've ever seen.
