Idiots guide re downloading tools.

    Image of 'Get Logs' run.

    Autorun....bottom left corner as you suggest...after 2 seconds changes to 'ready'.
    When I try and close it always goes to 'not responding' (after saving the log).

    Very strange! Seems there is no end to the problems on your PCs. Perhaps you would be better off reinstalling because it seems we have no shortage of problems trying to run tools/scans on your PCs that work perfectly fine in every other thread here in the forums. And it does not appear to be due to any malware!

    The only real issue we are left trying to fix is the proxy entry that keeps returning. This proxy issue likely the cause of your inability to update F-Secure and some other connection type issues. But since we cannot find any reason for it, and you just don't seem to be able to run many tools that are requested, it may be time to give up. It should not be this difficult, but when we cannot run the tools we need, it becomes impossible to help you since I cannot do it for you and I have to rely on your ability to complete our instructions and provide feedback and logs.

    Good Morning Chaslang,
    Having thought long and hard I have decided to go for a full reinstall of the operating system.
    Your patience, understanding, and obviously your technical ability have all been remarkable.
    I trust that my inabilities have not caused all the problems...perhaps only a few, and the majority were actually cause by a very unusual fault on my PC.

    I can only thank you for your tenacity in dealing with this problem.

    You're welcome. I'm sorry we could not resolve this. I'm not sure exactly why we cannot as the same processes to remove these stubborn proxy settings have work on hundreds of PCs. I just started to feel that perhaps we were taking too much time to try and fix this and that perhaps a reinstall would be a better choice for you now.
