Internet accelerators

There seem to be thousands of programs to speed up the internet downloads. Are any of them any good?

 

I use DAP & GetRight. While they do actually speed up d\l's sometimes, I get just as good of speeds using Windoze. Also some sites won't allow you to use them.

 

Try Fresh Download from www.freshdevices.com, it's free (no adware) and it works.

 

As for some sites not allowing you to use them, I think that's because some servers limit the number of connections you can have for each person. For this, I've heard that DownloadAccelerator isn't affected by this. It still works, even on the sites that do not allow download accelerators. I can't vouche for that, unfortunately, since I haven't used it.
