In my mind, you must think of the total cost.
    $22.50
Now, if I go to a special fancy place somewhere and buy a special, fancy t-shirt, It will be on the order of magnitude (Hi Gottheit!) of that price. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less.
But, since it is not mass produced to the extent that the supply is so high, I would think that would play a part in the price.

Still waiting on mine.... Will have to post some fancy pictures with it when it gets here....
    :) :p  ;) :)

I ordered my shirt and am waiting for it patiently. It cost me $43.70 Canadian!!! That's including all the shipping and conversion to Canadian money.

    I hope it's a great shirt!!!

    LOL

I wish the money went to you too. If the shipping and conversion rate were cheaper I would have bought 2 shirts! Then you would have made twice as much money!

   Well, I got my shirt. I ended up paying over $55 Canadian for it. All the shipping and customs fees really screwed me over. I'm never buying anything online again.

I know it's not Major Geeks fault for the extra fees. I just wanted to express my anger at the cost of the shirt after the initial fee.

    I like my shirt. :)

Always happens to me when I buy stuff from the states. It happened when I bought my dA shirt as well, ended up paying my entire "leisure" budget for the month on a tshirt, in fact it ate into my food budget as well (haha, ate... oh never mind)

Glad you like the shirt ...but WHOA!!! That is steep. I havent sent anything to Canada - even sending to EU wasnt that bad. How much was the shipping? and tax?

maybe there is something we can look into to lowering it.

    Thanks!

Hope your shipping/tax rates were less than the Col.

    ColonelAngus Beefy

I originaly thought it was going to be $45 but when the shirt arrived at the local post office they charged me with a $10 customs fee! It took me totaly by suprise. I never knew about any customs fee.

The shirt was $17 American and at the time I think it turned out to be something like $23 Canadian. Then there was some sort of fee that Jinks charged. Can't remember what that was. Then there was the shipping fee.

The price of the shirt is good, it's just the other things that make it expensive.

You never know, us smart geeks could find some clever way to sneak in beta and alpha technology, and they wouldnt want that. :p

  23. ColonelAngus

    ColonelAngus Beefy

Customs even opened up the package the shirt came in. Why would they do that? It's just a shirt! It's not a security risk. Geez!

  24. Corporal Punishment

That that is what I was curious about. Jinx charges the shipping, which is reasonable and in line with everyone else. We were unaware of a customs feesl. I'll look into what we can do to avoid that. Probably not much though, knowing the Canadian Govt. I've shipped several to other contrties with no customs fees...

As for opening -- who knows maybe they thought it was made of hemp and not cotton. ;)

  25. ColonelAngus

    ColonelAngus Beefy

I don't mind that it cost so much. It's just money. There's always more to make.

Just curious, but how many shirts have you sold so far?

When can we expect to see some new designs? Summer's coming, need T-shirts. I think you need a geek-chick babydoll tee shirt, because there are tons of hottie geeks here. And kodo will want to show off his rack.

Regarding the Canadian duty on items shipped from the states...I know it used to be the rule that small items marked "gift" and priced under $100.00 were duty-free. I wonder if that`s still possibly the case?

We have a hoodie that came out last week -- we are working on a hat, but the embrodery is tough. Also we have 1 other T in the works.

As for Kodo -- he told me he prefers the shirts that tie in front.

Ditto Ira Gaines comments - I've had mine since before Christmas and never fails to get a comment or two when I wear it and I tell people if they like it to go check out MajorGeeks.Com ... which is easy enough to remember and is a tad more exiting site than Watching-Grass-Grow.Com ;-)

Yeah. One of my favourite shirts too. People sometimes comment on how cool they think it is when I wear it at a mall or places like that.

How many shirts have you sold to date, MA?

hehehe - New tag line: MajorGeeks.com upgrading wardrobes -- 1 geek at a time. ;)

They have been pretty popular... which is why we're thinking of doing more stuff we have an embrroidered hat designed (waiting on one graphic) and a new shirt idea. (Still working on a pocket T). So it is going well.
