Hi guys, ill start off by saying im a novice, but ill do my best.

I know that i have a wireless Linksys router that i guess my family has been using as a wired router for the past year. I just bought a new laptop and wanted to try hooking up to wireless internet in my home. I can connect to my router through the laptop, and it says that i'm connected, but it wont let me access the internet.

In the status it says that i am not connected to either the IPv4 or IPv6. Please help, and ask questions if you need. I want to get this resolved.

I dont know if this is important, but i am currently using my laptop by just connecting the router which is hooked up to my modem, to my laptop.
This may help some of you?

are you sure you have wireless enabled on your router? and on your laptop? i don't see anything listed there for a wireless adapter...

where i stand now is knowing that my laptop can now connect to wireless networks, but i am having problems connecting to my own. If there is a command prompt that will give the best info, let me know. from what i know about the ipconfig/all, it seems fine. it will connect to my network through the ethernet cable, and allow me to use the internet, and it will allow me to connect wirelessly but not connect to the internet. it says i have "limited access". my ipv4 and ipv6 have limited connectivity?
